AIGA’s Design for Good
We should all care about the impact of our success on the environment, on the conditions of employees on the production line, and on the depletion of global resources. To get started with design for good projects, we’d recommend first volunteering or working below your standard pay rate. Unfortunately, many of these causes are under-served, and thus underfunded.

Working alongside Gage Mitchell on the AIGA Design for Good taskforce, Rule29’s founder and creative director Justin Ahrens argues that the biggest mindshift that needs to happen is thinking work needs to be pro bono. When a designer feels they want to make a difference, they know where to go first, where their talents will be respected and where we can match them with problems that need to be solved, explains AIGA executive director Richard Grefé.
